Default RB Concepts S7 question......

I just bought a brand new RB s7 motor and it did not come with carb restrictors. So do they come with the new motor or they sold seperately. Or do they even need them? Just want to know i will call my LHS that i bought them from yesterday to see what they say.
Thanks for any input!!

All the RB engines i've ever bought new or used at least came with an red 8mm insert.

Mine did not come with any, but I usually just run an OS 8mm.

If you got a standard (non-worlds) S7; then it will have a fixed 8mm carb. Non-insertable.

Nothing is wrong; it works very well and is properly sized for the engine.

So, for a S3,S5,S7 it doesn't come with any but can you put one in from Innovative Designs? Or is that not how they work? I always pictured an insert as something you add to choke it down. But I'm reading into this that only carbs with removeable stock liners can accept other venturis. Can you clear this up for me?

it can also be used as a tuning option, for tuning to elevation or somthing......the two S7's i had you could put the rb restrictors in them but 8 is as big as it gets, because the way the carb is made its already an 8.......

+1 you can use any RB or novarossi insert 8mm and under. I used to run a 7.5 in my s7 and it ran great with it. I found that after the engine had 4-5 gallons on it it became slightly more difficult to tune and didn't hold the tune as well. A buddy of mine suggested trying the insert and it helped alot. It got the motor back to it's normal easy to tune self.

I'm not speaking for 'other' aftermarket branded inserts.

However; the S5 and S7 that I've handled were fixed venturi 8mm carbs. They will not (or at least are not molded to) accept the standard molded plastic RB/Novarossi style inserts.

If you compare a "fixed" 8; vs. and insertable 8 or 9mm unit from Nova or RB you will see the difference and the "seat" where the insert is supposed to sit (which a fixed 8 doesn't have).

Hope that helps.
