Default Hobby stores in Vegas?

Going to Las Vegas this week for a wedding, so I will probably be bored out of my mind during the day. Any good hobby shops that carry lots of off-road stuff near Vegas that I can check out? I wanted to bring one of my cars and try to find a track to race at, but the wife threatened me with death. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip, but there a lot of zip codes in Las Vegas. I guess I'm looking for something within a half hour or so from the strip. I don't want to stray too far and get lost.

What type of car are you bringing, that way i can point you to the correct hobby shop.

I live in Vegas and am 1 of the founders of Sin City RC, which holds races almost every week.

There are a few shops and 1 track...the track is 10-15 minutes from the strip. PM me if you decide to bring your stuff and want to run.

I wanted to bring my 2.0 or Slash, but that idea got shot down before I could ask. The only thing RC I can bring is magazines. So now I want to buy something just to get even.

If you're a Losi 8 racer, you'd be pretty disappointed by the hobby shops here in Vegas. I race an 8 and don't even bother trying the local hobby shops anymore, as they never have anything I need/want. But, if you're just looking to kill some time and look at RC stuff, here's a list of the ones worth checking out:

Hobbytown USA (SW corner of Sahara and Decatur - w/i 15 min of strip)
Hobby People (SE corner of Sahara and Decatur - w/i 15 min of strip)
Dansey's Hobbies (on Charleston, just east of Lamb Blvd - w/i 15 min of strip)
C2 Hobbies (Boulder City - this one is about 20-30 min away from the strip)

Thanks for the replies and PMs. I'll just be looking to kill some time. Maybe there will be some Black Friday deal I can't pass up. More or less looking to just aggravate the wife a little for dragging me there for a wedding. Now a race of any kind would be a much better reason to go. I went to The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway a few years ago for an NHRA National for my 40th birthday. Now that's a reason to go to Vegas.

I remember a couple of years ago, there was a really cool track right across the street from Dansey's. Is that place still there? It was off-road, and the guy that owned it was really cool.

That was Finishline Raceway. That track is Gone. Because that track closed, a club of backyard RC racers started holding races at Silver Bowl Park. Also, Danseys has moved from that location to the location that is posted.

finishline! Yes that was it. That was a pretty cool track. It was fun to get away from Gambling for a few hours and burn some Nitro. Too bad it closed. thanks for the info, and the update on Dancey's.
