Talking Is it safe to go WOT with an OS .28xz?? lol

Well...I just recently put a new os .28xz in my new XT8 and yesterday I finished up the breakin and did one single WOT run followed by a few 1/2 throttle and 3/4 throttle runs on pavement and holy shit!!! First off...It wheelied a little when I nailed it WOT!! My truggy wheelied! Secondly I felt my tires were going to rip apart! Somebody tell me its ok to go WOT all the time because it was damn sweet! By the way...The most powerful motor I ever had before this was a VZB V-Spec so...yea...Lets talk about .28's.

It is safe to go WOT if you have a WOP (wide-open pocketbook) that is just a $350 engine chewing up a couple hundred dollars worth of parts. Let us know how it comes out - and where!

Revvo, Keep a close eye on your drive train, your diffs, your bearings, your clutch bell, and your clutch shoes. Power is good, but it really accelerates wear, and slop happens real fast

I've been eyeing that motor for a few months now, seems like it's performance isn't overhyped (which it sounds like it is ;0))

AWESOME!!!!

No its not overhyped haha. I thought the same thing until I started rippin on the motor yesterday after I finally got it broken in and a little tune on it. Its really still runnin on the rich side but I couldn't wait for a WOT run any longer.

Questions??

not to change the subject , but I am planning on getting the XRAY XT8 and was wondering how you felt about yours. I will be putting a "AXE Rossi 21 Model 198R21 COBRA VP Series Off-Road HOT MOD Modified by Jim Hottinger" engine in mine. This engine turns at 51000 rpm which we all know could be just a number derived from one enigne being tested.

I love it! Its amazingly smooth and solid. Everything on it feels much more tight than other buggies/truggies I've messed around with.
