the shocks should be 14mm threaded with a smooth hard coating... they said that after testing the 14mm are more consistant than the 16mm shocks..

I've for one have never had a problem with clips on shocks. Sometimes I prefer them because there is no question about the amount of preload on each shock...

A local OFNA pro has been driving a Hyper 9 at my local track on and off since early/mid summer, Robin Nelson. He pitted for Kortz at the worlds since he lives in the Charlotte area. He has won quite a few races with it, but he could probably drive about anything. The car looks like a good performer though, and i havent seen him break anthing. Not sure about the shock design as i havent paid that much attention to it for a while now.

I've seen Robin race at Outback. The car does look great and he's a great driver. Very approachable. The buggy looked dialed and performed well on the track. I too, don't remember what the shocks looked like. I looked at it early i the summer when they where still tweaking some things.

Like D8 said, the Shocks are going to be 14mm THREADED units, price should be in the RANGE of $550, order from your local hobby store,or A-Main, Tower Hobbies, Horizen Hobbies, Nitrohouse, etc....

Too bad I was really hoping that the Hyper 9 would be the D8 alternative. At this price it's closer to "high end" cars like Xray or Mugen.

Shock towers and overall finish. In this price range people don't just look only on the performance, they look at everything.
Kit content, support, material quality, finish, durability , ease of use and more.
Plus it's a brand new design, that need more proof than just win few race by a top pilot.

I'm a big fan of Hobao cars, I do recommend them for there unmatchable price/quality . (I own a H7 PBS and i'm quit satisfied of it)

But with the competition on this market right now, launch the car at this price might be difficult.

I don`t think so , the expected price is not far from previous Hypers .

Hyper 8 was $489 when it came out and Hyper 8.5 was about the same . Which now the prices have come down some since they have been out for a while .

BTW , they are very competitive with the other "high end " buggies .

Any talk of price is just preliminary. Nothing is set in stone yet. IMO chances are once the big distributors get ahold of the car prices will be set in stone. Remember the term "Street Price" comes from what the car actually sells for AFTER it is released. Everything is is just an educated, (or not) guess.
