Losi 2.0....Losi 1.0 What parts are interchangeable?
#31
OK Losi experts - I pulled the buggy (the one I bought used) apart and replaced the steering rack plastic with new 2.0 pieces and I could not visibly see a difference. Are we talking about the pieces that the ackeman mounts to, and the servo saver is part of on the right side? THe only thing I can figure is that the change is very minor, or the guy I got the buggy from had made the upgrade immediately after the 2.0 stuff came out since that is about the time I got it from him... Anyone else make this change and see, or not see, a difference?
This is the new part I used. It is the part number from the 2.0 manual and click the picture of the package and you can see it is described ans the 2.0 piece: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/30431

I have also heard of others having problems with the new spring on the servo saver and they are reverting back to 1.0 spring. I have not had issues with mine as of yet. I too am looking to upgrade the 1.0 to 2.0 for my son. The center gear box and rear gear box from a quick visual appearance are not different. The shock towers are different in addition to the body mounts in the rear for the truggy. The rear arm shock mounting points are much different in addition to the different shock lengths. There is a lot more shock travel on the 2.0.

Yes the BUGGY front and rear drive shafts fit only the centre rear is different in lenght to accomodate for the longer chassis, the Truggy however is different as stated by jmackani due to longer suspension arms

The current Losi tank was a running change during the time of the 1.0 and the 2.0 uses the same tank. I read about people having trouble but I never experienced it. I actually still have a tank from November 2006 that I use on my dirt oval Losi L8ight Model. Sorry no help.

Horizon shows 2 part nos. A-9160 for the 1.0 and A-9162 for the 2.0. The tanks look different in the pics, hence the question. I picked up a 9160 at the LHS today. I haven't had any tank troubles yet that I know of, but have seen lots of others. I suddenly have 2 engines that won't hold a tune and can't find a leak anywhere else so I'm going to swap tanks and see. Never hurts to have a spare.

the 1.0 and the 2.0 are the same size and they fit both chassis with no problems the 2.0 tank was out befor the 2.0 car was out it was and upgrade that came out shortly after the 1.0 car came on the market because the first tank was having so many problems.

Quick update on the tank question. Air8 I suspect you're right about the running change. The LOSA-9160 tank I purchased looks just like the A-9162 tank Horizon shows. Different spring, fuel clip attached to the screw for the tank lid. WHich is good, 'cause they show the 9162 tank out of stock LOL.
