Pull Start Slipping

Hi guys,
I was running my Hyper 7 yesterday and when i went to start it the bearing was slipping in the pull start, it would sometimes grab but was a pain, took me ages to start. Anyway i will change it to a starter later in the future but for now i want to keep it pull start, with the same one. Is their a way in which i can get the bearing to grip again? i was thinking maybe giving the pull start and bearing a clean with some spray but is there anything i should look out for when i take it off? like any parts going flying out?

Cheers

Your One Way Bearing is slipping.

Drill a small hole in the center of the pull start cover, (center of the bearing)you can then use motor spray or WD40 to lube/clean the bearing and just stick a piece of duct tape or something over it when you run. Less than 10 seconds to clean the bearing in a pinch. When you have time you can take it apart and properly lube it.

Ok thanks guys. I will pull it all apart tonight. Should i look for anything that might go flying out? eg coil.

yes, the coil can easily pop out!!! be careful. Pull starts are a real pain, do yourself a favor and get a starter box:)
