I was ripped off by him a more than a year ago. I contacted the U.S. postal service and filed a mail fraud claim. I don't know if anything ever happened but I know he is a piece of $h!t.

I try to tell people as much as possible to stick with Local guys for all transactions. You never want to buy anything from a stranger on e-bay, and you dont want to send $300-$400 engines to some dude that's halfway across the country. If it's not a reputable on-line retailer like A-Main, etc. Give your money, or your product to someone whose door you can go knock on when you need answers, refunds, or you just want your stuff back.

This is really sad to see that he has done this before, and people keep sending him engines...I hope he gets what he deserves

I paypaled him for 2 bodies over 3 months ago and was told the bodies would ship right out within 2 weeks..nothing ever came I have emailed him maybe 20-25 times and the only response I get is very soon. I just tried to file a claim against him through paypal only to find out its been to long (I was trying to be cool to him and look where it got me). Now He has severed contact with me altogether and has kept my money.

I just want to keep this thread going. It does come up on google search, so hopefully this will help others not to get ripped off. If you really look into it, Doug Summers (Dick Weed) has scamed alot of people. He is laughing all the way to bank, but someday this lifetime or the next he will get his.

I dont want to give out and exact date...but KNOCK KNOCK. I have paid an online company to research him. I have tons of info if anyone wants. PM me.

I contacted his local police department. If everyone does the same then I am sure something will happen. It's too bad. He was a really good painter, but now he is just a rip off artist. He never responds to emails or thru Ebay where he continues to scam people. He only responds to prospective customers. I setup a gmail account asking all the pertinent questions about how much, how long, etc. etc and within a day he responded.

Wow, I'm shocked to read this thread. Summers was a magazine cover car painter just a few years back! What the heck happened in his world I wonder?
