Default '08 V Spec

Sorry if i'm kicking a dead horse here, but i searched & couldn't find the answer. Someone mentioned in another thread that the '08 model v spec had a hard coated crank like the speed/ jx ninja. I believe this is untrue. Can someone say for sure please. Crank shot in my eb mods motor & i'm shopping for a new one. Thinking about putting jx crank in it or a '08 v spec if it's hard coated.

Default 08 vspec

I run the 08 V-Spec and it does not have the coated crank from the speed, but it does have the speed Carb.

Thanks. Guess i'll try the jx ninja crank. It is hard coated plus it has a turbo cut in it. Already have a speed p/s in it. Don't want to spend the extra jingle for the speed crank.

Make sure you check the oil hole in the crank and/or conrod. I put a OS Speed crank in mine and also needed to put the conrod in, as the OS Speed crank doesn't have the same lube hole as the stock V-Spec crank.

Default crank

Do not put the JX21 crank in your V-Spec. All the JX crank is is a OS .28 XZ crank. If you want your crank coated there is people that might do it for you

www.reidrc.com/v-specos.htm

or email him at rich@reidrc.com

JX crank entirely different than xz crank. Ed Bridges already said it would work better than the stock crank in the v spec. Both engines have the same stroke. Jx is hardcoated but has less timing than the speed crank. I already have a speed. Want something a little different. I was running a speed p/s/r in my eb mod motor & wow what an animal it was. A different power band than my speed motor. Crank pin shot now & i want that similar feel.
