I don't know anyone locally paying $500 for a Speed. You find them for a lot less.

I run a V-Spec with Speed crank/rod in my RC8T and I was racing against someone with a .28 ZX/XZ (also RC8T) last Sunday on a large track and did not notice any disadvantage in power anywhere on the track. I did not pay attention to runtime differences as we were both coming in around the same time due to lack of my regular pit person.

Just got a new .28xz for my XT8 but I'll PM you if I'm looking for another motor. Of course I paid full price at my lhs for the .28xz.

I can make a JPX 28 much faster then a OS28XZ.....!!! stronger low end and a massive top end advantage....My price is $350 for a JPX 28 and all i can say is its a very nasty motor.... I am not going to say my motors are the best, or my motors are the fastest, i will however post some videos of my work in action and let you make your own opinion on it......

heres a few videos of my motors in action

Once you get your tune set, just run it till it stops in practice. If its tuned right, I'm sure you'll get more runtime over the .28. Did you drop a ceramic rear bearing in also with the crank?

+1 for what Black said.

You need to try one of Uriah Murnan's .28 Picco's. Stupid amounts of power with easy tuneability. I was watching one this past weekend and even half way down the back straight away he was still feathering the throttle. BTW, the track was hooked up. It just has that much power. From what I remember the temps were in the low 200's.

and here is a few videos of my .21's ripping it up

First up is a nasty JPX 21..violent hard hitting powerband with a blistering top end

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=pKjABd...eature=related

And here is a video of a OS V-Spec I modified... smoother bottom then the JPX but with a better top end ring out...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbyKJ...eature=channel

Both these .21's will lay out a OS 28 on anything but ultra high grip surfaces, as soon as the 21's get spooling its game over for the 28....... Of course i am talking stock OS 28 !!! I have modified OS 28's that turn pretty nasty..

maxximo.. what kind of radio does that dude have in the 1st video? and like i asked before guys.. whats the point of buying a $300+ .21 and modding to make MORE power than a stock .28... when everyone says a $200 .28 is to much power.. .
