Having problems replacing the silicone gaskets/rings on the header-to-pipe and header-to-motor. Any tips? I have the stock Losi 8 2.0 (I bought the HPI gaskets)

what problem? use pliers to take them of and bit of force to put them on.

They don't just slide right in. They bunch up and too fat to fit inside. Are there different thicknesses?

Had the same problem. Put some fuel on the gaskets then slide everything together.

just use a little spit and they will slide right on!!! thats what i always do i am sure that something else would work

I tried the fuel, spit and WD40. It's a no go. I am assuming they should slide together all the way to the gasket flange. All it does it bunch up with about 1/8 inch left to go. ??

You'll be fine just slap the springs on drive.

There are different size gaskets even if they are for .21-.30 motors. Most of the gaskets are the same size except for one that I found out. The purple HPI gasket that they have is bigger then the usual .21 gaskets. Check your gasket and make sure it's for the correct size motor.

I just re-read your post again and yea you have the wrong gasket. That gasket you have is for the HPI savage. Get a different gasket like ones from RB, Novarossi, Racers Edges, etc. and your pipe should slide right on.

They do come in different sizes, and its a pain in the butt. After a few years you will have gasket and O-ring collection! The purple ones from Ofna are not as thick, and should solve your problem

no all gaskets are equal in quality. thin onces dont seal as well and dont last as much. so far RB are the best ones I ever had. they are bit more expensive and pain to put on but can last quite a whlle and seal nicely

first, use the ones made by th company that makes you pipe

second, put some after run oil on the gaskets, cover them, then install they will slide right on and the oil will help the seal
