Why trash a good motor, especially when it's only 10 tanks old?

Heck, that's when I call a V-Spec just broken in. Why not winterise it, and have it for next year, if your done racing for the year. Or give it to a kid so they can have a motor to race vs abusing it. Seems silly to trash a good motor.....

I am not rich !!! but I do modify dozens of engines and i wanted to test some of my latest tweaks to the sleeve timing on this motor..... unfortunately for me winter is coming and where I live we have brutaly cold long winters....So yesterday may have been my last day possible to test my motor before snow hits us...... So considering I would have to wait till April/May to be able to run again It was well worth the risk to my tight motor....................... Also I had fun with my buddies, which honestly matters more to me then saving a precious race engine for next years season...Friends and fun are priceless, and when its -60 F in January I will enjoy watching the video I shot yesterday....

I should add as a disclaimer that this engine has gone thru a proper bench break in with a load prop, it has been heat cycled and I am running a high oil break in fuel 16 % oil ....it is on tank 10 and still has gobs of pinch, i am not really abusing it that badly..!!!! i do a feel maybe a little guilty, but not much !!

You should have dropped it in Molten Lava! That's the best place for a V-spec, or they do make great paperweights!

Anyone interested in a lightly used OS V-Spec..... runs really well and only has 11 tanks of fuel thru it LOL !!! hehehehe !!!

Thanks for the compliments, its nice to see someone see the other side of the hobby...... I gave up my whole summer working inside my shop, I dint even have the time to race once this season..... last year i burnt over 25 gallons, this year I have only burnt 4, and most of that was on a break in bench ... So when its time to go running I am going to get my moneys worth one way or the other....grab a few beers and go blast some nitro !!! with my evil winters I enjoy watching my videos and remembering what summer is like !!! anyways .. I will see how long this motor lasts, but I am usually very good with measuring my rod ( no pun intended LOL !!! ) so chances are this motor will still live a full life !

Thats not beating up a engine. You should see what some of them go through where I race.

And here we beating u a poor JPX 28 as well....this was what my buddy was driving !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykDmif2txIg

.. believe it or not the video were just the warm up.... we ended up drag racing them over and over relentlessly... Blew a few tire foams, broke a pin out of a M2C flywheel other then that all is well... both motors still show no sign of rod damage, both motors still have fantastic pinch and compression...To me this is what its all about, pushing things to the limit and enjoying the ride !!!... I still think the V-Spec is going to open up even more once it finishes break in and i switch to some better fuel, i am very impressed with the top end of the OS, it never seems to fall off powerband no matter how far I push it......most motors will fall flat eventually, but this thing just keeps winding, i was running out of radio range before i was running out of pull it seemed..... I was having failsafe glitches once the truck got a little distance away.......Anyways so far so good with the new mods !
