tune changes throughout the day u know.....as u stated....ran good all day till the last round....probably later in the afternoon.....the weather probably cooled down and the motor needed more fuel to compensate....u didn't give it....so it went lean.

on the P+S question....i think i remember hearing what your talkin about....and RB guru should chim in sooner then later.

I have the RB S3. Been using it for about two months now. Itís a great engine. When it is time for a rebuild I was reading up on some stuff about it.

Here is what I plan on doing.

Info from undergroundrc.com:

1) Exchange the crank for the S5 (it has a turbo cut into the crank)

2) Port the Intakes on the sleeve to gain additional to top en and run time

3) Run an RB #5 glow plug or a medium hot plug instead of the medium #6 plug once ported.

Undergroundrc.com has a porting video

I have heard it works but don't know for sure.

A whole new S3 doesn't cost much.

Are you sure it needs a new P/S? 380 is high but it's a tough motor.

I know that the Go Tech internals work for Novarossi engines. I'm not too sure about RB mills. PM 22Racer. He has had good success putting Go Tech internals into other engines.

Why not just cut the so called "turbo port" into the s3 crank? It works great.

The best thing you can do to the sleeve is to raise the exhaust port. Duration is really low on the S3's.

I don't know about the Go-Tech but the RB S5 piston & sleave will fit & then you will have your 5 port.

Won't work - the GO parts fit the long stroke NR-based engines like the P5 and the 2001BF, but not the short stroke NR-based motors like the S3, S5 and S7.

Not to mention the indexing notch on the sleeve... Go and NR are on the intake side... RB is on the exhaust side.

What about the RB S5 or S7 internals in a T21bf? If the RB's and 21BF are both short stroke shouldn't that work? Would you just be able to cut a indexing notch into the opposite side of the RB sleeve and install it in a 21BF?

The RB S3, S5 and S7 all have compatible internal parts. If you want the best combo you will install an S3 piston and sleeve in a black coated WS73 case, with a turbo button. Also the S5 crank in a ported S3 is insane for usable power, and feels much like an OS speed. I've run combos of all the different RB parts, and like the modded 3 port the best.

i've seen tnt mods s3's and they fly, $180 motor + $100 mod is a great deal for the performance, and it will last a long time too.
