Ive been outta the sport for 6 years and i forgot just about everything lol. What are the 3 screws for on the carb and what should i start with for a base setting on them? One screw is on the part of the carb that moves(idle screw maybe?) Theres a small one with a spring on it, and the main one that the fuel line basically comes off of......any help would be greatly appreciated!

The one with the spring on it should be the Idle Set Screw. The one you refer to as the main one, is you HSN(high Needle). The one that is left on the rotary part of the carb is you LSN. First step is to get it to start. I don't know the factory settings for that carb. If it starts the just make sure it is spitting fuel out the stinger and go from there. I like to start with the HSN and monitor my temps. I don't like to tune by temp but it will get you to a safe zone. Once you have the HSN close then move to the LSN. If you pinch the fuel line were it enters the carb and it revs up and dies immediately then the LSN is lean. I like for it to run 4-5 seconds after pinching fuel line.
I would also put a fresh glow plug in it.

awesome...big help.....I have a temp gun....What should it be hitting for temps after a run?

Another little issue i have is that when i turned the idle up(to the point where it creeps forward) and leave it sit sometimes it just slowly dies???

I don't know that engine but 200F-220F is safe. As far as the idle issue. I would make sure the idle gap is not too wide. See if there is anything in that manual about idle gap. Pull off the air filter. The gap should be pretty small. If it seems like it is open alot the turn down idle and play with you LSN. This is kinda tough over a forum. You should also make sure you still have compression/pinch on the motor or you will drive yourself crazy. Then we get into air leaks. hehe

To richen it you turn it like you're loosening a screw. So yeah, it will come "out" towards the top of the housing.
