The spektrum has a built in failsafe, be sure to set that up. Use this for the throttle: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/23715

I simply wrap two small rubber bands around the carb. Wrap it from the fuel inlet nipple side and carry it over to the carb pull arm. Most LHS carry a bag of small rubber bands. The springs work, but if you mount it where it touches on the carb boot, they will eventually cut through them.

I use these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/71291-Goody-CLEA...QQcmdZViewItem

I bought a pack of these at a local Wal-Mart and they work better than a spring and rubber band in my opinion.

Once a spring has been stretched to far, it won't have the tension close the carb plus it is likely to rust.

Rubberbands will degrade after a short while and eventually snap or break especially due to the heat and fuel exposure. You definately don't want that to happen while you're running your rig.

The Goody elastic hair bands will not degrade, rust, or lose its tension. I use two bands on all my carbs. I wrap one around the carb opening and the slide carburetor ball linkage and another around the HSN and the carb ball linkage. One pack will last forever.

has nothing to do with the servo....rubber bands work in case the linkage (ballend) pops off the carb.

I use those little elastic bands with a Hotec 5955TG which is rated a 333 oz/in @ 6 volts. I am using a 7 volt regulator so I have a bit more torque and speed compared to the 6 volt rating and those little bands have held up well and pull the slid carb closed. They are the best and cheapest investment you can make in this hobby.
