Default Protek RX-Lipo 2300mAh (for Xray 808) and Trakpower V-Balance Module

I have no experience with Lipo and need some advice what charge lead and /or connectors i need for loading the Amain Protek Lipo (stickpack for xray 808
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/15789) with a Trakpower Balancer (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/12576).

I will order from Amain - so when somebody has a link or a partnumber it would be a great help.

thanks!

Running lipo is no big deal as long as you take care of your packs by charging them properly and never leaving them in direct sunlight or your car for an extended period of time, you will be fine and able to enjoy the benefits of longer run times and greater response from your electronics. The pack takes the typical JR servo lead so you can plug it right into your Rx with no mods. necessary.

I ran this pack in my 808 and it works very well. You will need a regulator as well to step down the voltage from 7.4v to 6.0v so your electronics want get fried.

Regulator - I use the Novak line of regulators (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/23173) with a switch built in. Some guys do not run switches (failure point, fear of leaving it on and the battery over draining). With lipo, unlike other battery types, if it goes below 3v per cell it dumps very quickly, in seconds, and is usually ruined. Some of the newer technologies, V2 packs, you don't run this risk but the packs are very expensive. Just keep an eye on your run times and you will be fine. You can tell when a lipo starts to run low as your electronics may start to glitch.

Charging - I use a Duratrax Ice Charger
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/6053
Balancer - I use the Astro Flight Blinky for all of my Lipo's require balancing (starter box battery, Rx packs, Tx packs) http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/9704

Thanks for your advice. i will take care of my packs. i will use the protek regulator. i already have a trakpower balancer on order as i will also use lipos in my 1/10-buggies next season.

what i need to know is what kind of connection i need between the Protek receiver pack and the Trakpower Blancer. This Balancer comes with a charge lead with 4mm/2mm connectors for the car-packs.

what kind of connector will i need for charging/balancing the receiver-pack?

I recommend a "squid" type connector. This will give you a connector for almost anything you wish to use with your charger.
