Airtronics Servos?
Has anyone had problems with Airtronics Servos? Or any good luck with them?

i have both rock crushers the gray heat sink as the steering and the blue one as my gas and i havent had any problems yet

I believe many of your top dogs run them because they are of great quality. I run JR because thier easy to get fixed which they do often. And i run Hi-Tec because i want quality.

no more airs for me, had three sent in for repair with not much time on em and got phone call saying the bill was $200. um no thanks ill run jr's with a three year war.

I really like the Airtronics 94358 servos. They are a coreless motor analog servo that has 200 ounces of torque and they are pretty fast as well. I've used them on both throttle and steering on a ton of buggies and truggies and never once had a failure......:nod:

I run 94360's in my Losi 8ight buggy. I love the servo's but...........I had one go bad (motor) with less than a season on it. They repaired it for $40, sent it back, raced with it twice and it started "glitching" which is the precursor to one "burning up". I wasn't very happy about it. So.....I sent it back and they called today (3 weeks later) to tell me I owed them $60 bucks. Regardless to say now I'm not so happy with them.
Not talking good or bad. Just take it for what it's worth. I love their servo's but for the price this could get expensive. |
I run Airtronics servos in everything from 1/18 to 1/5 (see sig). I have only had 1, count that 1...servo go bad and I deserved it. I hit the brick wall at the end of the backstraight at Trackside without a servo saver.
I have seen several different brand servos fail at various tracks. Nearly every time, the end point adjustments are not set right. Stalling any servo will kill it, just a matter of when. I think some of this is because of the strange way Dual Rate settings are on some transmitters. 100% should be 100%...I know some transmitters default at 100% (where most people go and then set their End Point Adjustment) but then go up to 150%. Well, if you increase your Dual Rate setting above where you set the End Point...(I typically do this from the drivers stand - no way to hear or see a binding servo), well, then you have a servo waiting to fail. |
I think you can find good servos and bad servos in every brand out there. For me the customer service is what sells me on a servo.
I have had too many motors go bad in airtronics servos and had to pay to repair them. Also they take forever to either get it fixed or get it back to you....and I live in southern California. I now run either JR or Hitech in all my cars.....and have had very little problems. And when I do they handle it in a timely manner. That's my 2 cents... |

I have a Brand new 94359Z never put in a Buggy for sale for 80 if anybody is interested.
