Question; servos for RC8T
I recently purchased the Team Associated RC8T. I am using the Futaba 3PM 2.4GHz Fasst sytem. I was wondering if you all have some ideas on the servos I can use for the steering and throttle. I have been told that you need a servo with high torque capabilities for the steering. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your best bet would probably be the HiTec 5595TG servos. 333oz/.15 @6V, however, these servos are commonly run with lipo @7V making them much stronger and faster without any troubles.

hey Chad im pretty sure we can get a good servo to use.
Im using the 5955 as mentioned above and i no we hav the JR 8611 and8711 the 8611 is 320/@6v and.15 i think the 8711 is 403/@7v and .15 those would work real well |
I am using a Hitec 5955 for steering in my RC8T. I actually (while waiting for my 5955) raced it with an Airtronics 357, which you would think would be way under-powered, and it still worked decent.... I would say any quality servo with 200 oz or more will work in this truggy.

I've used Ace 1015's with success, as well as Futaba s9351's. Both work great!

Thanks
Hey all, thanks for the info and the quick response. I am gonna give those options a try

Jeff do you have an online site or just a storefront at the track location?

I use Airtronics 94559's for both throttle and steering in my RC8T.

I used an Ace 1015 in my truggy all season with no problems. Good torque and fast, too.

i'm running the JR DS8711 Ultra Torque Sx in my RC8T and it's STUPID how strong and fast this thing is!! It has 403 oz of torque and .15 sec/60° of speed.
At $139.00 It's only $20 more than the HiTec 5955/7955 which also another good servo at 333oz of torque and .15 sec/60° of speed. In my Truggy I run the JR 8711 for steering and the HiTec 5955 for throttle (I know the 5955 is overkill for throttle, but I took it off of my REVO where I used it for steering). |
