Default Truggy Engine pipe combo

I am picking up a Losi Truggy. What is a good engine/pipe combo with a smooth power band. $300 to $400 including pipe. Thanks

My son has been dominating with his Go .25. Really good power and fuel mileage is great. And they sell for only $210.00, he's using a 086 pipe. Here's a link to a video, his name is Kendall, 2nd place is running an Rb mod long stroke Sirio. http://www.mnnitroseries.com/gunner/...4%20Truggy.wmv

We've also ran a Dynamite Mach .28 and the P5x is also good too.

OS v spec & 2060 pipe. Shop around & you'll come in under 400. This combo tough to beat IMO. I've had alot of people stop in my pit to see what's in my 8t lately. It really hauls ass.

I run a tuned grp 21 with a 053 dynamite pipe with silver springs on alum and gold on carbon in my 8t does the job pretty well. It is real smooth!

+1 on the P5XS and the 086 or 9886 pipe with the short header. I had two V-Specs and the 2050 pipe combo before and the Novarossi motor is much smoother and should outlast the lifespan of the V-Spec. It might get slightly less run time, but I'll take that trade off for a smoother power delivery and a longer lasting motor. I still don't have them leaned out as far as i can go either. These motors really seem to come to life after two gallons and have more top end than my V-specs ever did. I run the stock Losi springs with the Dynamite Max-Life shoes in both my truggy and buggy. The 8ight T has the 9886 pipe and the buggy has the 086 Dynamite pipe. I can't tell a difference in the way the motors run with the different pipes and the P5XS has more than enough power to make any jump on any track with my Losi truggy. The P5XS engine and pipe combo is cheaper than the V-Spec also.

Sportwerks .26 V2 + Dynamite 053 pipe. (no laughing!)

Motor 129.99 + backplate to replace pullstart $11.99 + pipe $49.99 all from A-main. Easy break in, easy tune, and will run with any of the combinations mentioned... for less than $200. I personally know someone who ran that motor in the nationals...

One tip on that motor: Remove the idle set screw and pull out the carb slide... deburr the slot in the slide and reassemble.

i agree with domit! they are easy to tune and react predictably to tuning.if you are just getting started, chances are any power difference between this and other engines isnt gonna be a big deal.dip your toe in the water cheaply, learn from your mistakes with an inexpensive set-up,rather than the pricey one.the 053 pipe helps keep the power smoother, and runtime.
imo,get some experience ,then step-up to the more expensive mills.ive got a v-spec,and an o.s. 28 sitting in my pit box, ready to go,but i run the mach 427 for club races.i still beat the same people that i would beat if i ran the other two motors...
