Default n00b with HPI Firestorm....

Hey guys, I have been into R/C's for awhile, but always bought used nitros and never could get them running correctly. So I went out today and bought a HPI Firestorm. I am assuming it isnt the most "kick ass" r/c out there, but I just wanted something fun to mess with.

I had a question about the suspension...I have a threaded nut that is at the end of the spring...tightening it downward, is that hardening the suspension?

Also, i havent seen many parts for this truck yet, but how effected is an after market exhaust?

I appreciate the help and advice you can give.

actually that is a very competitive 10th scale gas truck a friend of mine has one and it is very impressive the RTR engine makes gobs of power the servo's of course have to be placed gently in your closest trash can and replaced other than that the truck can run with all the rest no problem. there are a ton of parts out there for that truck i dont remember what site they were on try either towerhobbies or nitrohouse one of the 2 has every part made for the truck as for your shock question just go to the track that you race at and ask another 10th scale guy what ride height he is running front and rear and what spring rate and translate that over to your hpi and you should be in the ballpark.
