Default ORION CRF 21 OFF ROAD MOTOR ?????

Can anyone tell me what this niro mill is like.

What plug does it use??
I should think its a turbo plug.

Does it have good bottom end and a screaming Top End as I heard????

Thanks...

I plan on getting one in about a month . I have ran their previous .21 , .26 , and .28 engines and they were very strong and screamed from bottom to top end .

The CRF engines are turbo and seen on a thread that the best plugs are picco plugs and seal properly unlike the o.s. and other plugs .

these motors are crazy with the amount of power they make throughout the whole power band. they dont get 11 minutes like a vspec but you should get 8-9. also OS plugs DO FIT! understand its picco based and a gentleman has inferred that they dont but they do and the only plugs that do not seal well with it is O'Donnnell plugs.

i personally run these motors and have been for the last few months. have over 10 gallons on one and its still kickin.

I was looking into the new Wasp myself. But the loss of runtime over my Vspec is not apealing at all.

In the current november issue of xtreme rc cars they have the full dyno article,

basically it is a powerhouse with peak hp of 1.62 @ 23250rpm and 71.21 oz-in @22500 rpm AVE hp is 1.04

For only $350 it seems like a great deal, just wish it had a rear ceramic bearing already.

The run time seems a little off at 7 mins in the new inferno mp9 since they only got 6 mins with the vspec in the odonnell in the same issue. The vspec was run at revelation raceway and the orion at thunder alley if not mistaken.

Im seriously thinking about the crf and making my still strong vspec ebmods as a backup.

I know the motor won the S.I.C. in Truggy this past weekend.

Its definately between this motor or the .21 Ninja as the next motor I will try out.

The XRC issue that you mention also shows that the Orion motor has an almost perfectly inverse powerband in relation to HP/TQ and where it makes these numbers. Looks like a monster of a motor.

You will like this engine. I have been running it for a few gallons now and it has a great powerband.

What size is the rear bearing? Does anyone know, I would like to order a rear ceramic.. Would it be necessary?

I would think people should just buy a Jammin JPX 21 instead....same performance, same build quality, $100.00 cheapoer.......... take that $100.00 and get the Jammin modified and you should leave the CRF in the dust !!!!

i just got mine the last race of the outdoor season. has great bottom and ballistic top. the power band is real smooth as well temps were in the low 210. with about 6.5 to 7 min of run time i use a jp 4 and im sure that the crf pipes would work better with the 8mm restrictor. the os plug works but i think that it sits to far down in the combustion chamber. i checked the od 97t and it fits much better. xrc also said that the engine reaches over 40,000rpm
