Default RC10GT -- Need help with Brakes

Hey guys, I finally got my engine alive, but it seems like the brakes are not tight enough, because they take forever to stop the truck, even at 1/4 throttle. I have consulted the manual, but i can't find a daggum thing about the brakes, so any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Deuce

Make sure the brake disk is not circled out where it rides on the nut, which is on the topshaft. If you don't have the aluminum nut there is a good chance that the plastic nut has the edges worn off it.

I would get an aluminum nut and a fiber glass brake disk if you find that either of those pieces need replaced.

And you will need to adjust the linkage that goes thru the brake rod, move the barrel clamp closer to the center of the truck so it applies the brakes harder.

Here's a picture how I like to set my brakes up. THis way they are easily adjustable with the thumbscrew..

Here's a fiberglass brake disk. NOt the one I was looking for but not sure if they make the ones I used to use.
