Default shock building method

Let's talk about shock building. I am looking to find out how the pros build thier shocks. I have been filling them to just about the top, pushing the rod up and down to get out bubbles. I then let them sit. With the rod in the fully extended posistion I screw on the top cap slowly to let the oil escape out of the bleeder hole. Is this the best method for building them. I have never used the snot on the shafts, which seems like it would be a good idea. I have had some trouble with the end cap bladders being compressed when I take them apart to rebuild, so I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or this is just common. Let's here everyones method.
