Speed / Novarossi Rod?
Why is the Nova rod better than the Speed and what justifies the Nova being more expensive...... much more expensive????? Is the Nova crank really better than a Speed crank???? I promise I am only trying to gain knowledge no sarcasm intended.

Do you need to ask? This thread will go nowhere and will end up hurting OS fan boiz feelings.

I thought the Speed rod was supposed to be as good as the high end Novarossi rod or the Mighty RB rods?
I thought the Speed got all the good parts the $300 Vspec should have came with.
NR R7 rod=$53
N21b rod=33
Os speed rod=46 (if this is the right rod, not an Os guy.)
TAG body spray= 3.12
RB rod= 61
Jx21 rod=41
Seem about the same.

I think the selling points have alot to do with it, both rods are very good and will last, breakin has more to do with rod failier and also poor tunning, the os gets a bad hit just due to the crank in the std v spec being a little soft, like the go motor's of current. the current speed and JX crank's use the more popular oil hole in the back if the rod as well, always liked that design better like nova has always used.

Are you saying the rods are interchangeable?

I am wondering if there is a difference in the mfg process the materials or design..... come on will some of the engine experts chime in. What makes one better than the other? I always hear this engine is better because it does this ...or.... that.... but why does one perform better than the other?

they are all good engines, some have more stringent quality control, tighter tolerances and better materials but the key to longevity is the person behind the radio, tuning and maintanance.
as far as the go-rods i use them in all my older novarossi engines with excellent sucess and without failurs and i will continue to use them.
i even break-in my new novarossi mills with a go-rod and after a gallon i put the new r7 rod back in.

A while back I heard that in Italy they're privy to chroming processes that they can't do in Asia (environmental reasons) but I've only seen the chrome wear off the sleeves of the old OS V0-1b engines. I think the Euro stuff is just made out of better metals.
