I understand racing to be as
Pro: Chassis sponsored drivers
Expert: Fast people with alot of experience with no chassis sponsor
Intermediate: Beginners, a little bit of experience, etc...
Honesty is the best policy when signing up as an Expert or Intermediate, as you know your true speed and experience.

Actually they aren't even letting people move up to the Pro class if they want to... I know of some people that nearly made the A last year that are being forced to run in the Expert class this year because they didn't have enough points to run in Pro. That could lead to 4-5 guys running away from the rest of the Expert class. Might not be very fun.

The way I look at it is this whole new "Pro" class will keep more people from attending finals. My son QUALIFIED for and attended Worlds and because he only attended one regional event would have to run Expert. If he has to run Expert we will not attend finals. Plus what kind of competition will the Expert class really have in 4 or 5 years when the top 12 get moved up each year. In 4 to 6 years all the current Experts will be Pros and the expert class will be Intermediate drivers that have had to move up. So now there are what 8 or 10 Intermediate drivers in each region that just started this year.

It kinda looks to be creating diversity. Don't know if that's good or bad. From looking at the regions and who has signed up already, many of the intermediate and expert classes only have 5-10 entries. So a few drivers from each region will race together.
Of course some regions are larger than others and they have more signed up. I was going off the average.

As I understand it, only the top 12 in expert were invited to run pro this year only as it was a new class for the finals. The rest is as normal, top 3 bump, whether from intermediate to expert or expert to pro. Even this year I think only the top 3 bump from intermediate to expert.
I would also guess that if you think your son should run pro, mail Carlton or David and tell him why, they can invite you based on performance in other races.
