it strange folks do that, my son could not wait to race with the fast guys. he told me how can he get fast racing with people his speed or slower. so we run the fastest class a track has when we go.

We did meet, I talked to you about the hobby shop (TNT), but you were preoccupied with racing so I left you alone.

Default Awesome racing

Some of the best racing I've ever witnessed. And I was right on the floor next to the action Our plan to get the Pro Buggy and Pro Arena truck went out the door when we found out that they hadn't run any lower mains Sat due to computer problems. That would put the Pro Buggy race around midnight or later and with 200 miles to get home we decided to go another way.

We recorded the Pro Arena Truck race with both cameras full length. Also we did parts of the expert arena truck monster truck gas truck and the exhibition races for Slash and electric buggy.

With this material I decided to do two videos. The first one will be everything but the Pro Arena Truck race mixed with music my normal style. The Pro Arena truck will be full length ambient sound with announcer switching between the camera on the drivers stand and me on the floor catching the close up action.

I'll probably get the first one out fairly quickly but the full race vid will take some time. Just to encode the puppy will take a lot of time. And I want to try and use the multicam feature of Vegas to keep everything in sync. So a little learning time in there too.

Look for other videos of the race. There were lots of video cameras and still cameras recording the action. I know a company named 5-D was there I met that guy. Sooner or later you should see every main by some videographer. I'd like to do them all but just doing two 45 minute mains put the hurt on me bad.

Nope. It was bad. At least for me it was. It looked like this race was the first time I've ever held a controller on the day of the mains. However, the previous two days I was running awesome. I qualified 10th in intermediate buggy. Would've been higher had my RX battery not dumped. My transponder didn't have enough power to transmit. Doh.

Some of the holes would just stop the 8th scales in their tracks. Some of the other holes just flipped the buggies on their lids. I'm not good enough to yet I guess to drive around them. The pros were awesome to watch. The could just glide right over the huge holes and ruts.

Anyone have anymore info on this?
I was there... it wasn't mentioned in the Truggy class to the best of my knowledge... but it WAS brought up in buggy class. They voted and allowed them to run. (It kinda helped that there were 19, YES, 19 intermediate buggy drivers that were chassis sponsored.) I personally think that is crap, but hey, I don't run the show.

And looking at the qualifying results... it was harder to make the A in intermediate than in expert.

19 chassis sponsored drivers in Intermediate?! If you don't think a 50% deal is good for the hobby co. that should spell it out right there, LOL. Carlton will post results when he gets some sleep and gets to it. I haven't seen a full list anywhere yet.

yea the results were 19 to 18 (equals 37) and there were 79 buggy entries. so less that half of the drivers were represented. not to mention most of them ran truggy also. so no input from them either. dont seem right that 60 people follow the rules but 19(rule breakers) can change the rules!!!! there argument was it didnt make them a better driver. which in some cases was painfully obvious. but they had a sponsor none the less. and when the first 3 rules in the rule book cover this there never should have been a vote!! apparently us non sponsored, law abiding racers dont count. and we will keep flipping the bill for those who chose to run intermediate with a chassis sponsor.
