One of the great things about racing in so-cal is having great approachable pro's like the drake willing to help you when they can. I had a novarossi that needed a tune, the Fusion guys hooked me up, my 5t wasn't dialed rhonda skelton gave me some advice.

Thanks Drake.

adam when you say stock shims do you mean the one that came on engine or are you adding the two copper shims for 30%.up till this point ive only gotten about 8 min on tank of fuel with 3 shims .this is my new carb idle setting.my carb idle gap is about .022 im and i went to 2 shims.trying to find the 10+ min out of this engine does this sound right? my 2.0 is on the way cant wait.

Default GRP

Hey Adam, last JBRL race at Bakersfeild. I had issue with breaking in the GRP .21 motor. I ran 8-9 tanks total breakin, but about 5 tanks idle with fat setting. For some reason after that, ran slow alittle less than half throttle.. It seems to be stalling it, I am kind of worried about this mill now. In the qualifiers it ran really fat and slow. But when I drove it by the motorhome.. It ran pretty fast and good tune. I dont quiet understand why it changed on the track and by the motorhome.. Until the heat 1 it ran little better. but still slow, like it has no power, i am being patenice at that time. Then in the main, it feels pretty close to right setup. Ran 210 though?? I read about that in GRP thread, they said it should run 180-190 with good power. I tried that, didnt have power.

and i add this another question.. I want to know about the GRP glow plugs..

I never seen these before, but i noticed in owners manual book. The GRP PLUS plugs.. What does these really do? any difference? stick with the GRP turbo glow plugs?

nobike- Anytime.

donut92673- Run the engine the way it comes out of the box. You don't need to add any shim for 30%. How much fuel do you have through the engine?

Kropy- Thanks!

DirtyDezPirate- With the engine being so new it will run a little hotter. 210 is fine, as the engine breaks-in more the temp will drop. You want to stick with the std. GRP turbo plugs. The PLUS plugs are for running in wet conditions. Is the engine running good now?

Mr Drake

When you break-in an engine do you idle the first 4-5 tanks back to back or do you cool it off between the tanks ???
