I'm running the O'donnell truggy, pretty much stock set up, clutch is stock-1mm springs I think with stock shoes, track clay surface with medium grip mix of straights and technical jump sections, weather fine 24 deg C, running AKA city block medium compound tires. Using 30% nitro fuel. Havn't added xtra head shim yet. I don't blip as I've come from an electric racing background. Infact I can't stand the sound of blipping! Lol.
As for the tune, I can't go any leaner on high speed needle or mid range, bottom is a bit richer but not boggy. Maybe I should find smaller carb inserts?
I won the 25min final at the weekend so truggy is brilliant for its first proper race day, engine is good just I was pitting at 7min!

Are the clutch shoes aluminum or plastic? What fuel are you running? Is there any place on the track you think you could be wasting fuel..spinning tires or waiting for marshalls...I know of a few running sh .21 and there suffering from run time as well..It isn`t the driving style or track because with other engines these guys can go 8-10 minmutes....What I have experienced, SH makes great power up top but lack run time and a little bottom end....(9 port)

The clutch shoes are aluminum, the fuel is one made here called purple rush and heaps of people are using it, I swapped over to it from using sidewinder with no tune difference between the two. I think the engine is just thirsty unfortunately.

The 2009 model SH engines have great fuel economy, SH made some changes in the porting that really make a difference

Try a smaller restrictor and see where that leads you.

Mad does SH make a engine with 5 ports or less..If so I would like to try one

car runs solid as it comes out of the box. Only problem I had with mine is the rear brake would fade. They came out with a upgraded brake kit though. I never broke anything on it when i had it. not much spares needed other than that imho.
Mad; any idea when the new tires are going to be in stock?

I hope to know the answer to that in an e-mail from SH tonight!
They are incredible, and everybody that tested them RAVED on and on about them!

To be very honest... you dont need to buy anything else to start driving it. Ive never had any issues with rear brakes, mine has 9 months and even the brake pads are the ones that came with the kit.

I had to change the wing mount once due to very hard abuse, and two sets of front cvds but once again everything was my fault... this was and still is my first buggy so you can imagine how bad i was driving it out of the box.

Trust me... you dont need to buy extra parts together with your initial order. If you brake something you can get it very very fast from MadRussian (z-carstore.com).

Hmm...Short track engine. On the subject of durability. Where do I start?

Creeping up on a year, on a used buggy, this is what I have broke: (Keep in mind, I race 1 or 2 times a week. The looser I got it from races up to 4 times a week) 1-modified lower front a arm (Still finished. No DNF) 1- Cracked rear chassis brace(no Dnf) 1 shock tower (Let a duscbag just try to kill the car) 1- bent rear shock tower, 1 bent front shock tower, (all from lots of race time..Lots) A Few Bushings along the way, a few bearings, but all in all, compared to any other buggy, this is a frikkin tank! Like an M1 built with titanium! Its Light and tough! Really, No BS, I replace parts on this car when they are just flat wore out, not due to breaking them, all things wear, and to maintain tip top race shape, sometimes I will replace a part because I need to to run at the front, (Or try to??)

Really the car is super well built, and its just getting better..Dare I say X ray quality, Kyosho grade...without the cost. You just get all the benies without the BS...Really Bang for the buck, this is a car you need to consider, the handling, durability ,longevity and quality of the car is equal to or in excess to many mainstream brands on the market today.

Monkey..
