MBX5R suspension binding up w/application of O'lube

I bought a practically brand new 5R recently and raced it for the first time over the weekend, conditions were VERY DUSTY. My routine is to airhose the car and liberally apply O'lube to all hinge pins and basically anything that moves after a few qualifers. I've done this in the past on my 8ight with no problems. My 5R's suspension now squeaks like crazy and wont rebound properly. I'm guessing dust has worked it's way into the hinge pins causing binding. Has this been anyone's experience? Should I simply refrain from lubing the car during racing? (O'lube dries after a few minutes also)

One last question: Should the stock 5R's shocks be built with full rebound? Mine have little rebound at all and I built the 8ights with full rebound.

Thank you for your advice.

u dont use OD lube on the hingepins....only the CV's....and IMO that stuff dosent work too well...its a Wax based lube that is Guarenteed to attract Some dirt.....I would look into some sort of Dry Film lube...it can be had at most automotive stores and is relatively cheep....its an Aerosol too btw so application is alot easier.

Dirt will work it's way into the hinge pins causing the bind. Also, make sure the threaded hinge pins are too tight. I tightened mine down and backed off 1/2 turn just to make sure.

Shock shafts aren't bent?

Pivot balls aren't bent?

Lastly, check the hinge pins for straightness.
