Default Not your typical "which engine" thread

Ok guys, lets start by asking all to not throw tomato's at me for asking this.

What I want to know is what is the lowest powered .21 or bigger engine that you have driven!!! I dont want opinions about what is the, smoothest or most powerful mill on the market. I really wanna try running what some would coin as a dog of a motor.

So lets hear about which engine you have had that was the least powerful motor you ever drove. Then tell me a little about the reliability of that engine.

A cox .049 in a little cox 1/12th car.

Oh, you said .21 or over. I don't remember what it was called but it was an SH made motor from some RTR car.

Thunder Tiger Pro21, good motor to start with and once you can drive it flat out you know its time to upgrade, that usually only take 20 minutes on the track.

For a "dog" I am assuming you do not mean poor reliability but what we would normally class as poor performance..

Hmmm - TTR Pro .21 is a good call indeed. Alternatively I would say the LEO .21 which was russian made but did border on poor reliability as well.
OLD style force .21 was pretty gutless as well but tended to run for ever and loosened up nicely further down the line so improved to take it beyond "dog" territory.

Ofna's Machstar .21 that comes with some of their buggies. It's so week, I don't even think they sell it separately, and I think I have figured out your bet! How much is riding on the fact that you can beat your buddies Novarossi, O.S. speed etc. etc, with a crappy low powered engine, LOL

Not run a VG as yet.

Thinking about it the HotBodies .46 for the Truckzilla conversion has without doubt got to be the biggest dog on the block.

I ended up with a "Force FC .21" when I bought out a guys whole r/c operation several years back. The motor was basically brand new, and I figured it would be a good "practice" motor so I didnt wear out my Ron Paris built picco's. Haha, that was a good theory, but this motor would not get out of its own way. I threw the motor away long ago, but I still have the head, infact its sitting right in front of me; short, stocky blue head, and the botton where its recessed for the head button to go into, it isnt even machined smooth for good contact area, just raw "sandpaperish" aluminum finish.

WHAT A POWERHOUSE

Picco Sport 21. A rtr replacement. Couldn't pull a sick whore outa' bed. 3 gals. and could free wheel with the plug in. I guess 85 bucks does that.

Im suprised at your thoughts about the Picco - was it the P3 B - it is considered as pretty good over here.

Oooo - the Vertex, not run a .21 but had a few .26`s in RTR Cen matrix`s and I dont thik any are still running.
