RB .21 s3 fuel question
I have a question about what fuel brand and nitro % to run with a new RB s3
l2g .21 engine. the manual says 15%-25% is recommended but im just wondering what everyone is running. also what plug is everyone running, the motor came with a 6 and just wondering if people are runnning OS's, odonnel's, ect.... any info greatly appreciated...thanks Mike Williams |
I am running 30% Sidewinder in mine and it runs great.
|
did you add the .1mm shim
|
Hello,
Werks 30% is the best fuel I have ever run with my RB engines. It clears out well and runs cooler. A good combo would be the Odonnell ODO99 plug, with Werks 30%. If its modified run the ODO97 or hot plug. Put the RB S5 or S7 crank in your S3, port it, and run a turbo head. I call that the RB Speed... LOL! :sneaky: |
inside-line, did you add the shim under the head??
|
To be on the safer side, you can add the shim. If it has more than 2 gallons, some will take it out.
|
I didn't add the shim
|
I run 25% Byrons in all my RB's & have for a while. The motors are clean on the inside when I inspect them & they run cool & hold up for a long time.

i am breaking my s3 in and i have about 6 tanks on it and about 3 tanks still to go per the instructions. very happy with this mill....i will post tomarrow after i go race..thanks for all the advice!

Sorry if this is off topic, but how is your Mach 427 engine running Mike? Did it last long? It looks like a good engine for truggy, and it's super cheap.
Thanks! |
you need to add the shim or it will add to premature plug failure
|
I ran Odonells 20% and byrons 20% both worked fine in my RB's. Your going to love that mill. Just take your time she's not going to lift her dress up until after a gallon. Make sure you leave it a tad rich on the lsn.

chrobar, the 427 is a great motor. has a smooth power band and pretty good on fuel and great on the pocket book. it has about 4 gallons and good compression and good pinch.
jamminary, i took out 1 .1mm shim and added a .17mm shim in its place. thanks for the info. |

i love my rb motors!!! they are so reliable and run excellent! |
well, i love it. runs great and it's not completely tuned yet. how do i determine it the (lsn)idle/air is to fat. it seems a little loaded when i give it gas, but seems good every were else. 240-250 f all day and i got about alittle more than 6 min on a tank...i'm wondering if i need the RB pipe. i have a dynamine 086 pipe. just wondering.
