Yep, all the 3xxx pipes will kill the power. Just like the 2xxx pipes are slightly down on power from the good old 086 and 053. The rules are making the pipes more and more restrictive.

Unless the rules governing the event there is no reason to run a 3XXX pipe at all.

Thumbs up

Isn't IFMAR the only governing body mandating 30xx pipes? Is ROAR going to follow suit?

If your club racing, just use what ever pipe you want...! Yep run the 086 or 053' they sound like a chainsaw on crack!

It's my understanding that ROAR will require at least a 2xxx pipe next year. If so, no more 086 3xxx would of course be legal as well but don't bother.

How stupid is this whole thing? Why would the sanctions want to slow things down? How ridicoulous!!!! What's next, speed regulators on dragsters?!?! maximum top speed in drag racing will now be limited to 75 MPH! So the really slow people can win too! how stupid, makes me glad I stick to the clubs

....on the brighter side, you can get better runtime now that the engines are restricted. LOL! Yeah, it kinda sucks that the new pipes slow down the engine because some people thing our hobby's a little loud for them to handle. I just hope they don't stop making the popular pipes i.e. 9886, 9853, 9863, 2006, 2013, 2017, 2018

I've always wondered what the numbers mean?

From what i can tell from this thread the pipes that start with a 20 mean they rob your engine of 20% of the power, the ones that start with 30 mean they take away 30% of the power, lets hope the next pipes don't start with 80's

Bit of a narrow view there. Sure, it does kill a little power but if it means the hobby stays alive, then so be it. More and more tracks are being shut down because neighbouring residents are complaining about noise so a noise reduction is fine by me.

No, I don't like the fact that they're complaining, especially when the track was there first as is often the case, but nothing much you can do about it besides reducing the noise.

That's what happened to a Dragstrip (real cars) here in Ga. A subdivision and a public school essentially caused the track to close

Doesn't surprise me. As far as I'm concernced, whatever was there first gets right of way. If you didn't do your research before buying, that's your problem.

I especially love when people move next to an international airport then complain that there's too much air traffic.
