Also, about the apples to oranges, I wouldn't say that is a fair statement. There are other 1/5th scale vehicles that handle so much better than the Baja. The Baja is just not a very good geometry.
Yeah, I bet a BMX track would be well suited for a Baja. When the take offs to the jumps are longer, the Baja actually jumps pretty well. There's only one jump at my local track with a long take off. All the other take offs are about the length of a 1/8th scale truggy, so they kick the back end of the Baja up and over unless you're able to coax it into jumping correctly by hitting and holding the gas at the very last second before take off.

If you want a 1/5 scale get one.

If you want to race, get a 1/8 scale buggy or truggy.

I have a Baja and love mine to death!!! I was warned by stadium truck drivers before I bought the 5b that it is harder to drive than a 4x4 vehical and they were right! I like the difficulty of driving a 2 wheel drive buggy and it makes it challenging.
Oh yea, mine hasn't broken either!

That is very true with the Baja. They will loop out when not set up properly, but they do go very fast! Everything else you said I agree on.

It's like comparing B4 vs. B44, the B44 will handle better simply cuz it's 4wd.

The baja is the funnest car I own & other than shock shafts its bullet proof.I used to frequent the baja forum when I drove mine & that place was great for info. The problem is its really big,I mean really big & fast,Its not ment for a 1/8 scale track racing. They are having a big race in riverside soon but you couldnt pay me enough to marshall that day.I will never sell my baja simply because if you can get on a bmx track on a off day they run for over a half hour on a tank & like I said its just fun & relaxing. You dont need to spend any thing over the initial cost to litteraly drive untill your legs hurt from standing other than stock shock shafts or aftermarket shock parts.Take into cosideration I only drive mine 4-5 times a year now as a flat dirt lot get old quick no matter how big they are.

1/8 for racing
1/5 to make your life more enjoyable.
Both to keep life balanced.

I got a 5Bss for xmas last year and the only thing I jhave broken is a shock shaft after running over a rock the size of a soft ball at full speed.
I love that thing. It handles awsome after you tune the rear suspension for yu type of drivind.
Being 2 wheel drive you have to learn how to do controlled power drifts with out spinning it out. It takes a while but once you get the hang of it its addicting!!

Hop ups are expensive. Parts are cheap. With the SS hop ups are not necessary.
