Gas Truck Setups and Tips/Tricks
What are some Setup Tricks/Tips for preparing a Gas Truck for Off-Road Racing?
Iam using a XTM Racing Nitro X-Cellarator which is a knock-off GT2. It has a Corllari XS .12 engine that is modded by John "Oddy". Whats a good shock oil weight to start out with? What does shock postiton on the tower and arms affect? How much camber/toe do you want in the front and back? Do you guys run sway bars? What does that affect? Sorry for all the questions, new to Off-Road. Ran this truck on Dirt Oval all summer and got a RC10GT just for Dirt Oval now, so wanna run this Off-Road only. Thanks SBS Motorsports |

You're not going to find many people racing that truck. Try the XTM website maybe?

Iam not trying to find a cetain setup for my truck. I wanna know what other racers use to increase the perfromance, and durabilty of there trucks. Like whats a good baseline setup for a Gas Truck in general? Not just for a certain truck. Anyway i heard that the XTM trucks are identical to the GT2s.

If it's identical to a GT2 try this as a start......
30-35 wt shock oil all around or 35f and 30r mount shocks in outside holes at arms and rear tower....1 or 2 holes down from outside in the front long rear camber link ride height....cvd's level 1-2 deg neg. camber all around 1-2 deg toe in on front wheels 2-3 deg toe in on rear wheels long wheelbase...if possible....adjust for track if needed set slipper clutch to slip on high grip surface for approx. 3ft diff setup will help alot but that's a pretty in depth discussion. lol hope this helps. |

But what do you mean by long rear camber link? Also, the only way i found to adjust wheelbase is moving spacers on the rear hubs. Do you want short wheelbase for tight tracks and long wheelbase for long tracks? Or is it the opposite??? |
