Just got back from the onroad nats and I was the only one there on 84. It was just like being on DSM so why switch?
Many people say there is a lag with DSM. I have used both and find little or no difference but I'm sticking with FM for now.

WHat about crystal compatibility among different manufacturers? Are they universal like batteries? Thanks!

you can't mix sanwa and ko crystals.
ko and multiplex work fine together, not sure about futaba. but i had a futaba receiver, working flawlessly with my ko ex-1, using ko crystals.
