Default Proline Velocity V2 & V3 Rims/Tires

So - Proline announced V2 rims for 1/8th buggies which are 1.3mm wider and 3mm taller than the standard velocity rims and will accept standard sized tires. I have been keeping an eye out for these on tower, horizon and amainhobbies.com and they're nowhere to be found other than the proline website.

Now before the V2 rims are even in distribution they just announced V3 velocity rims for 1/8th buggies which are not 1.3mm wider, but 5MM wider and only accept an all-new V3 sized tire.

Anyway - kind of weird.. but the point is - does anyone know when these will be in distribution? I'd like to try some of these out soon. Thanks, guys!

Are the V2 rims similar in width as the new AKA rims?

I haven't seen any new rims from AKA.. just their standard ones..

but the Proline Velocity V2 rims are 1.3mm wider and 3mm taller (1.5mm on each side) than the original/standard Proline Velocity rims.

I don't know about you, but this is getting rediculous! I really hope most tracks stick with ROAR rules and keep these wheels/tires illegal. This could be the 3rd new wheel in less than a year The buggies are also really ugly with the new wheels/tires...looks like a damn mini truggy

I just hope the hobby doesn't become a simple he with the most money is faster situation. Racing is fun because you have to be faster(est) with more or less comparable equipment. If the edge goes to the guy with deeper pockets that sort of defeats the purpose not to mention pushes people out of the sport.

That will never happen,

I see lots off people racing local race series with all the bells and whisles, that cant turn fast laps to save there live, just to prove a point a will race a RTR 19T cyclone this carpet season. I expect to do well cause i can drive and set up my car, Not because i can efford to buy the best. A side not I ran the new proline rims w/ bowties on my 8ight at the reginal finals with great results..I know there bigger diameter, they dont look anythng like truggy wheels.

Are the V2's the same size as the Losi wheels? Or bigger?
