That rocks... I personally never had a problem with the first 2...

but the rear "transmission case" was poorly done, caused frequent ring and pinion failures. Diff case wear needed to be addressed... ackerman needed to be addressed, and the lower spring retainers were a problem.

The rest... hmmm... maybe they needed fixed, maybe not, but I never had a problem with any of the other stuff listed.

Sounds like this may be a big improvement for reliability. The car itself was awesome, but it required a LOT of wrenching to keep it in good shape.

Why's that? I can just turn my old one into a car the newbs can try, a car to catch air with, or even a better an 1/8 Late Model.

I'm currently trying to sell my 8ight, but with the disturbingly low-ball offers people actually have the balls to send me, I'm considering turning it into a "L8ight Model". Is there/will there be a conversion kit?

Exactly why I'm getting out of Losi. I am too busy for a car like this. It is definitely blazing fast, probably the best performance of all 8th buggies, but the wrenching required to keep it that way is just far too much for me. It feels like shifter karts all over again.

Never had problem with the rear case with the aluminum bearing inserts, heavy diffs seem bulletproof, ackerman sucked. If they fixed the shock spring retainers and radio tray, bonus. When can I get one? I almost bought another one off Ebay, good thing I waited. Now I don't have to worry about getting the Xray to try out.
