How do you drill your wheels or tires?
I've seen video tutorials that show that you should drill 3 or 4 holes on the inside of the wheels, which is what I've been doing. Last week at the track a guy loaned me his JConcepts Hit Men and I noticed he drilled 3 or 4 holes in the center of the tire tread. When I asked him about it he said that way any dirt or moisture it thrown out of the tire when running instead of trapped inside.
How do you drill your wheels or tires and what have you found works best?

An x-acto or drill bit works best for the wheels. A leather punch is by far the best way for the rubber tires but an x-acto knife works fine to "cut" holes in the tires. Basically you stab the tire four times in a square pattern and pull out a little cube of rubber. I usually put 2 holes opposite from each other in the tires for the same reasons - it lets out any notable moisture from the centrifugal force. I also put a few like 1/8th inch holes in the wheels for venting so the tires can compress over bumps.

Toadman, did he really have bad grammar when he told you what to do?
Also, thanks for the reply fellas with respect to the tools.
Am I reading that you suggest doing the inside of the wheels and outside of the tire?. Doesn't the outside of the tire release the air so that the inside wouldn't be necessary?

I just do the tire, not the rim.

Holes in the tires for outdoor and holes in the wheels for indoor when there is little to no dust. With holes in the wheels only outdoor racing your tires will fill with dirt and weigh a ton and become very unbalanced.
The reason I put holes in the wheels for indoor racing is because we normally wash the tires after every run and they don't get full of water with the holes in the wheels.
