Thumbs up

There are many mods you can do to a motor to change the characteristics of it. Some people mod cranks and timing durations. Some people do the sleeve porting and backplate mods to gain better flow at high RPMs. Some people do it all...! LOL

Here is a crank I did a while back on a C6BBT7... was the fastest motor Ive owned. Also had an aggressive port job.

Here is one done by Rick Brake at RB Mods:

RB mods does great work.

A modified motor means, its been worked. Most common work is sleeve and crank work. Modifications should increase flow and packing.

The end result should be an engine with a very smooth/linear powerband. Rather than having all the power in a narrow powerband, you should have a bit wider powerband.

Thats if its done right. The 427 is very good example of an engine with some modding becomes an excellent engine. We've been modding those for over a year and produce a very strong running engine. The only downside to the 427 modded or not is it doesn't like to be run too hot and its lasts about 4ish gallons......

Go to this site and look for Art, or Neil. They are Pro mod.

Art goes by
"One Shot One kill"
Neil uses his name.

Neil races all over the US so he would know best.
