Bowfighters Theory

works great
bow-ties offer better forward bite (use them in the rear)
crime fighters steer better (use them in front)

dont quote me on this as I have not used them but one of my team mates has....
the crimes have wicked good side bite and the bows have not soo good side bite.... by running the bows on the back it frees up the back end letting it rotate quicker under power, sliding the back end out
i think it would be similar to running a heavy sway bar on the rear but, i really have not experimented with it.... I hope I am close but someone else can probably elaborate a touch more

you guys are right on bow ties rear lets it swing around and rotate quicker at the same time they provide great forward bite.
The crimes on the front have way more traction so when used on the front provide better steering response.
works great on the Losi car

With less side bite the bowties help keep the wheels down by not catching ruts and flipping the car.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is called Crimeties. NOT bowfighters.
This is because you use crimefighters up front and bowties in the rear, If you use bowties up front and crimes in the rear, your vehicle will push like a school bus and not steer at all.
If you use the setup correctly on EITHER your buggy or truggy, you will enjoy more or the same steering as you had before but enjoy much more foward bite when coming out of the corners, when you need it most.
It is very common to cut the outside rows of knobs off of the crimefighters (the front tires) in order to calm down the front end of the car so that the car is not overly aggresive.

Bowfighters sounds cooler.

wes95_z28 so you're saying if i put bowties in the front my buggy is going to go all out of control?

smb17 i ran crimefighters on the rear and bowties on the front as i forgot which way they should have been.
anyway. forward traction is amazing. but don't try to turn. the side tread on the crimefighters kept flipping my car, it was rediculous.
in the end i ran bowties all round, but from what people have been saying here. i'll give the crimefighers a go on the front and bowties on the back and see how i go.

I kinda believe Bowfighters are a quick fix for a handling problem... saying that, in a pulling my hair out need to do something without time to change diff oil i will run Crimeties... backwards, crimes on the back and bows on the front. I pull that one if a track ruts out real big and the car is turning in great, it's very subtle but the bows pull on the front more so the car is not being pushed so hard into ruts by the rear. I find it stabilises the car some.

Why would it be a quick fix to a handeling problem when 90% of setup is your tires? It doesn't matter how good handeling your car is if your running on rims. Tires are so important to a car and the bowfighter setup seems to work on just about every surface here on the west coast.
