Questions?? OS Carb baseline settings?

I have a "moderately" modded OS RG that has had "8-10" tanks run through it for break-in.

I put it in my 8ight-t and tried to run it today and its actin all crazy....
Plenty of power, smoke, and it just wont idle... When I keep it running with my finger it temps in the 250's after 2 laps... I was just wanting to know if anyone knows the baseline OS carb settings so I can get started tuning...
I fattened up both ends and the temps came down but then it doesnt want to idle at all... I put a new plug in it (medium) so it cant be that...

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated...

I have an OS Vspec VZB. Seems like a good place to start is LSN four turns out from bottom (all the way in) and HSN three turns out from bottom. Then begin to lean out from there.

I'm not an expert on the various engines/carbs yet so don't quote me.

No that is a 3 needle carb. The tall one is the high end and then one below that is called the mid range (normally never move it) and on the other side of the card where that black boot is there is a screw there and that is the low side

I guess I should have asked you if there is a screw on the other side where that black boot it. My first motor that I had didn't have a low end all you had was a high end but I have never saw a OS that didn't have all three needles

I sent you a PM but I was just wondering if I could see a pic of the other side of the carb? I am pretty sure it is a 3 needle carb but it should not be a hex screw

after seeing that it looks like maybe that aftermarket screw was needed but yes that is the bottom end and if you put your mid range needle back even with the carb body and the bottom end even or alil out from even you should be close.

that will do it everytime I hope that helped you. You can still ask around if you would like I mean I am not the best or anything even close to the best but I have been hanging out with J P for the last 2 years or so, so everything I have learned has been from him and he had not shot me wrong yet
