Default Air leak beneath Heat Sink?

I have had a very hard time lately getting my duratrax nitro evader bx dtx 18. to start and I noticed that I have lost compression and I figured it was the piston and the sleeve but just a second again I realized there was bubbles coming from underneath the heat sink everytime the piston reached the top of the sleeve, like that gasket underneath there is bad, is it possible that if that metal gasket is bad that it will cause bad compression and cause my rc not to start or......to start but everytime I let off the gas completely the car stalls.....the flywheel is easy to spin is why I am saying it may be compression

I'll check that now but I am pretty sure they are as tight as they will go

Take the cooling head off, and turn the flywheel. If the piston comes all the way to the top of the sleeve, your engine is shot, and needs rebuild or replace. If that is not the case, you may have lost the shim. I have never heard of a shim going bad, so you may also just have a loose cooling head. Make sure the screws are tight when you re-assemble it, and use threadlock

It doesn't go all the way to the top, it tops about 3 cm's away from the top

ur engine is pretty much shot but u may be able to get another quart or 2 through it by adding a second shim/washer to your glow plug.

Alright

Someone said it is possible it is just the glow plug, I have had the same plug in for about 15 tanks or so.

I've had the car for 2 months and have only used two plugs...aftering using the one that I broke my car in with.

Your glowplug will have nothing to do with leaking air, or fuel from the cooling head. after 2 months your engine should have more compression than 3 CM. Do you know how to tune? Are you running it to hot? What type of fuel, and Nitro % are you using? Your glowplug may be bad, but that will not lead to the problems you asked for help with, unless you missthreaded the glowplug into the cooling head, and you have a gap in the threads.
