Thumbs up

If your using this servo in a Losi get the badest thing you can afford, you know why. All servos will burn out so get one that will be replaced without hassle. The JR is a good servo for the Losi, they seem to last a bit longer in that servo eater. But for everyone else, I recommend the new Hitec servos... great service and they have no problem replacing bad servos.

+1 Hitec for all buggies except Losi

+1 for JR if you run Losi.

This is the new Hitec Hi-resolution/hi-torque servo

Hitec service rocks.

Dan ...last year I had one of my 5955tg sitting on the dining room table. it disappeared.... when I went to look for it the dog had eaten it. No...kiddiing! Wires were chewed off and teeth marks in the case...etc. I sent it in to Hitec RCD and no more than 10 days later I had a new one sitting on my doorstep. No charge, no questions asked. Just my cost of shipping the damaged one to California and filling out the RMA. I swear by the 5955tg.

7955 all the way..... I've pounded gears out of a few 9100 JR's in no time in a truggy..... plus Hitecs warrantee is second to none. I still have a few 5955s still just as smooth as the day I bought them..... I honestly cant believe how much they can take and not even get rough

If you want crazy power and speed run your new 7955 on direct lipo power ,as long as you have a Spektrum reciever if not make a harness with a regulator in it to run ONLY your RECIEVER POWER !! Put direct 7.4-8.4 to the servos !! The 59 series and 79 series are beyond words powerful and fast!! I have been running my 5995's for over 4 years this way ! And have not EVER touched them ! At one time I had 2 buggies going at the same time and the second one had both JR and Futaba servos in it . And the y failed constantly until I replaced them with Hitec units . My favorite combo is the 965TG for throttle and 5995 or 5955TG for the steering.

Can I run the Hitec 7955 for steering in an old Futaba AM radio system without needing to program the servo? Seems like most digital servos are able to run in older radio systems as long as the servo neutral signal is compatable. Proabaly 99% of you aren't running old radio equipment but can you warn me if I would run into trouble?

At first I thought Hitec was crap. About 8 years ago when I started I cheaped out and got a HS-605BB for steering. After stripping out two sets of the plastic gears a co-worker gave me some metal gears out of one of his old Hitecs and it is still running to this day. Now that I am racing, it is slow and a little weak but it keeps right on going! After hearing you guys talk them up I've always hated how much more money Futaba cost for what seems like the same thing. Maybe I'll go Hitec for throttle too. The standard Futaba servo just isn't enough for the throttle and I've had a couple fail - one fell apart and the other went into seizures! I think that as I learn my local track the servos are holding me back a little now.

I have seen it done with other am radios so I don't think it will be an issue.
BUT I will say that the anolog signal is going ot slow it down and not let the servo be as fast as it could be. If you can make a harness so only the reciever has regulated power , you can use a lipo and have incredible power and speed.

am radio's DO not have Epa's...there for you will be stressing the servo ALL the time....Imo it would'nt be a good idea...Unless you have a buddy with a Hitec programmer....then u would be able to as u can set the EPA's Internally on the servo itself.

I tried out one of the Futaba brushless servos (BLS451) last night and it lasted all of 3 laps. Something broke inside, I wasn't going to open it and see because since I bought it all of 1 day ago I'm going to get it exchanged for something else.

i know i am late..but you shouldn't be disappointed with that hitec i have the 59 version(aka the older version) and it last me through a whole season on my losi and is now on my buggy. i have others but they burnt up plugged em in wrong or something so they're going to back to hitec but as long as you treat them right and set them up right that hitec will last forever or so it seems

I have many Jr 9000 servos & 2 5955.I love the JR servos but too many back,5 since they came out & 3 sitting in my truck right now that need to be mailed.3 of those are because the gears got real worn(T version) around center due to very tight servo saver & one had bad motor right after I put it in. 4 S versions because they just crapped out(motors & or gears damaged) & those were in T/B. Their service is great but can take up to a month to get back.

Never had a problem with either 5955 but have had other hitec problems.Hitec service is second to none as said before.Only time hitec questioned a repair is the servos I sent in that they stopped making 5yrs ago & then they sold me the newest version of that servo for $35,that less than 1/2 what I paid 8 yrs ago.I live close to hitec so I drop them off or mail takes 1 day then they ship back the next day.I dont think it ever took more then 3 days for the entire hassle to be over with.

One last thing we have been noticing the 9000s servos suck your batts dry in 1/2 the time of the hitec 965.
