Default I'm pumped up right now

I haven't come down after finding out I have a photo credential waiting for me at the World Finals for drag boats in Phoenix this Nov. That and finally getting a handle on the fuzzy video that you guys haven't seen but has been driving me crazy. This footage was from trying some stuff to get a good preset for early evening. The finals will be right about that time at the Worlds and I want to be able to just change the preset when the time comes and be close. Not going to have much time to spare and its going to be after 3 days of shooting so I'm going to be way over the limit and tired. So I want to make everything as automatic as I can. Recently I read a blog by a famous photographer's trip to the Olympics. A lot of planning and such went into his trip. Started me thinking about all the crap that can go wrong after driving 1000 miles to get out there. I sure don't want to forget anything or not pack it to survive the trip. I need extra batteries and lots of tape too. And a small video light for any interviews and such in the pits at night.

You will figure out what the title means in the first few secoonds of the video. If not I don't know if I can explain it to you j/K its pretty plain if you have watched volleyball on tv.

Download -- not up yet looks like 9pm but it will be worth the wait. This one is a 2m stream. Twice the bandwidth of the usual download version. So nice and sharp.

I saw this other guy out there with a camera. This video is a symbolic marking of territory J/K I'm just in a good mood today for some reason. More like a playing jokes on people mood. But my wife is wise to me so I'm going to play with your minds instead Boooohaaaa

Dang it griz your 1/8 scale RC vids (all of them but those are my favs) are like RC CRACK! I can sit and watch them over and over again, particulary when I should be working. Incredible image quality. I can't wait to see your coverage of Worlds.

Default Yea I can't wait for the worlds

Its addicting making them too. Yea the IHBA World Finals out in Phoenix is going to be unreal. I've sat and watched TV lots of times and thought to myself I could do a better job than that camera man. Now I get the chance to prove it. Actually shooting drag boats is easy compared to the r/c cars. They don't get in the air much. The speed is faster but they are very predictable and big. So you can shoot them not as zoomed up then use the motion cropping stuff in the editor to bring them in to the final position. I picked up that trick from the photographers I talked to at LakeFest. Only they didn't know I could do it with video I've used it twice now. And it works great as long as you don't go too far with it. I bumped up on that limit a couple of times. Might have gone over it once but its all good. I know how far I can go now so that becomes another tool in my box. Taking inspiration from simple things like a volleyball games rhythm will keep my stuff fresh because there is unlimited inspiration out there if you look for it in simple things. I have an advantage because I'm not so hurried in my life. I have time to smell the roses so to speak. Had I still been beating down computer problems for Oracle I doubt I would have ever seen this stuff. You have to be almost bored then you see lots of things.
