The Pro .28 is a very good RTR mill I had 1 in my MGT I got 7-8 gallons out of it and swapped it out for more power but it wasnt done yet I gave it to a friend of mine and he is still using it in his aftershock. And it Keeps a tune very long.

i can vouch for the new 28pro engine. easy to start, tune, smooooth powerband, and enough top end, plenty of speed , i really like my bullydog, and run it w/ only the roll cage because this truck can jump! tires are hooking up , and although the slayer is pretty much in the same racing class, i'd rather be running the SC8

looks great, does make those huge jumps on modern tracks a lil hokey. perhaps we can learn somethin from the europeans on this with tracks thats are more 'to scale'. have to wait before i could look into this, but might have to slip it in before the wedding if not the 1st home. after that i'm screwed lol

Anyone played around with diff. fluids on the SC8 yet, does it react to changes like a typical truggy? Been out of nitro for a couple of years and this truck is calling my name.

Ok, done, gotta have one. I was a little hesitant about adding another MF to my garage, but what the hell, this thing looks awesome! Just wish there were more tracks around Montreal. Has any one done any kind of Bashing with this thing? How is it holding up? Cuz I am sure most of my driving with it will be bashing.

Mine. Came in Today. Going to ditch the motor, clutch, and pipe in favor of the JPX .28, clutch, and JP3 pipe in my 8ight.

Hitting the track on Saturday!

So I finally have all the parts to build the truck from scratch.

Few questions -

I noticed in the manual that they used 10,000 throughout on the diffs. This seems way strong for those little tires. Just wondering what you guys would think the 5,5,5 rc8 setup would do. - or maybe even a 7,7,7. I think it would be less squirely

also im debating weather or not to do the steering mod right off the bat. Have you guys noticed any bump steer in the car. This mod helped my rc8 so much - I just might.

I also might go with big bores if I can get another set.

let me know what you guys think

Ill post pics of the body when Im done - im getting it painted as the Greaves MONSTER truck

currently im planning on running futaba s9351 servos a p7r and a jp-3 pipe, although i might do jp-4

I know this probably will sound dumb, but I need to know.

Would it be possible for someone with a stock SC8 to count the teeth on the spur gear and even the teeth on the ring and pinion gears and let me know what they are?

I assumed the spur was 48, the manual shows 54. Also assumed the ring and pinion was 43/10. The reason I ask is I had one for about a week, setup brushless. Had it geared perfectly for 2200kv motor on 5s. Now I'm trying to get my D8 geared the same with the same motor and battery. D8 has 43/10 ring and pinion, same size tires as the SC8. No matter what gearing I try with a 48 tooth spur and a 50 tooth spur it's getting hot. That's why I need to know if the SC8 had a 54 tooth spur.

Thank you very much.

At Hot Rods is there enought Sc8's to have there own class or do they run them with the 1/8 class. My buddy and I have them and run on Saturdays up there. We would like to get back into racing with them and our Slash"s, I think running the Sc8's with the buggies will be a joke.

Default tires

Do slash or slayer tires work with the sc8 bead lock rims?

You must have a waterproof ESC!!

I love this truck and would love to get one. Is there many people racing these trucks? I'm sure that a Losi 8eight or other buggy/truggy design could be adapted to race with the SC8. What do you think?

i converted a strr into a sc8 style truck, made shock tower body mount adapters to mount the roll cage on it as well. the kyosho has 2-3 mm more wheelbase than the sc8 but its a blast to drive, havent raced it yet though
