Looking for a link to suspension tuning
I posted something similar and someone mentioned the XRay instruction manual had good information. I never could locate this unfortunately. I'm looking for a comprehensive guide that will tell me what do to if the car is exhibiting a particular handling flaw.
Say it's pushing on power, do you:
-drop the front ride height?
-reduce the size of the front sway bar?
-add thinner viscosity diff fluid to the front diff?
Basically I'd like to find a writeup that has solutions to push on and off power. Loose in the rear on and off power, etc. Sorry to harp on this subject, thanks for your help!

I found this .pdf a guy wrote Scott Guyatt from Australia, it is called the R/C Handbook and has all kinds of information in it. I think it would be great information for a begining racer or someone who wants to understand their car better. granted if you have been doing this for 20+ years like some ppl. on this forum its old news but i think it could really help some.......its kinda geared twards electric off road but most of the stuff applies to any type of R/C racing

Theres a great book I originally bought when I carpet raced that I use for all my cars that deals with chassis setup. It is the XXX Main Chassis setup guide very well written and explains every aspect pretty good. Helped me a ton and getting my junk dialed. Plus it fits in a pit box nicely.

BAUSTIN, I'm glad that stuff is still proving helpful - it's now about 10 years since it was first put together and keeps popping up all over the place.
As you pointed out the material was really aimed at beginning/starting out racers. it's not intended to be the be-all and end-all of suspension tuning for experts - but some sound basics for those getting a taste of how to go racing.
There is a touring car version as well which we keep on our current website at www.actionrc.com.au (look for "R/C Book" link).
Cheers
Scott Guyatt
PS both versions could do with some updating in terms of equipment (eg electronics, tyres etc) but the basics are still there. Apologies - I never seem to get the time to update the documents!
