Yeah, top fuel doesnt run a water pump either. We actually dynoe'd our motor dry good for two pulls at a time, worked out pretty good

Would 10% nitro 10% oil and 80% methanol work? I'm wondering if this would be a cooler running mix.?

its a tough call man, these guys have chemists and engineers design these fuel mixtures. Besides, with nitro at 2,000 dollars a barrel, good luck!

You don't have to be a chemist or engineer to make fuel. Only three main ingredients are allowed by the rules: nitromethane, methanol and oil. Figuring out the correct mix ratios isn't tough to do and a hydrometer to get the nitro content dead on is not too expensive and butt simple to use. The only real variable is the quality of the ingredients.

I believe the rules also provide for small amounts of anti corrosive and anti foam additives but I don't know how many blenders actually use these in full out race fuels.

I was racing the other night and this fella was running a fragrance in his fuel. It smelled like a flower. I know It sounds silly but it was a pretty good fragrance.

I was referring more along the lines of they do research and development to figure out which oils work the best etc, you may or may not be able to figure that out on your own.

I read a test a few weeks ago which they tested 8%, 12%, 18% and 20% oil content in Nitro fuel, test proved anything over 12% did not increase engine life.
