Method of lubricating your buggy? Anyone use grease?
I was thinking of maybe using some lithium grease on the hinge pins and maybe the diff cup covered then with a GMK condoms. Attracting dirt would be the largest issue however.
Currently I'm using that Odonnell's O' Lube and it seems to work pretty well. It's got the viscosity of water so it appears it gets in the joints pretty good.
What do you guys use to lubriate moving parts or what is your method/frequency?
Thanks!

the stuff you want is Dow Corning 557. A tip i received from the wise TonysScews
Its a dry spray silicon lube which works great! bit expensive but its worth it and it last...
cause its dry it doesn't attract any dirt at all.
cheers

Why would anything besides bearings need to be lubed?

I tend to stay away from grease. I got Racers edge modified bearing oil and accociated green slime and thats about all I need =D. In 1/8th scale buggy I have heard of putting bar soap on the spur and pinion gear. Don't rub it on just kind of roll it on there and get a nice coat of it... And doesn't attract dirt!

As far as lubing up a buggy, I'd just pull all the ball bearings and spray the grease out and put light bearing oil in. (You can pull the rubber seals with a hobby knife). I run these wheel nuts to keep some of the dirt out of the hub. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/4796
Just keep it clean and it will be fine. What buggy you run anyways?

any sort of grease on parts exposed to the elements will do nothing but attract dirt and dust. so sort of spray drylube is your best bet.
i've always used lighweight synthetic motor oil on all my bearings and not only get better bearing life and performance and need less re-oiling, but it also doesn't appear to attract as much dust

Sullivan Dry Ice is very similar to the OD lube but its Red.....ive tried the Dry silicone lube and its a pain to get on properly...with the liquid version u can see the good stuff at the bottom and once shaken good before application u know ur getting the Good stuff where u want it.......with an Aerosol can ur getting more of the Vapours unless u go FULL BLAST which throw's lube Everywhere....and i did actually notice a Thin layer or dirt on the CVD's after a couple night's running with the silicone dry lube.....im sure it'll be the same with the OD and the Dry Ice....but running them bone dry and havin them wear like they did i knew i Had to use something.
