Default Shockwears shock covers

Does anyone know if these shock covers effect the performance of the shock at all. I like the idea of the covers but don't want it to effect the springs.

I would say no. However if you wanna really overthink it... Since fold the outerwear into the top and bottom of the spring it would act like a very minor amount of preload, but Im probably overanalyzing it.

I will tell you this, I love them. My friends all gave me duff about it cause they said they wont look good for long. Well after about 3 weeks of racing and having one shock leak they didnt look to good. I threw im in a bowl along with some simple green and water and rubbed em together for a few seconds, then let them soak overnight, rubbed em together for a few more seconds and they look like new! I would highly recommend them!

Hey guys,

There is a little known ebay shop that makes the best RC covers on the market for filters and shocks. I have tried all of the different brands and found the quality and price is way better from this place. The difference in price is huge $9.99 vs $17.99 for Outerwears. Also I have the filter covers and they make my filters last a very long time. It has something to do with the material they use and the design. The Xray XB808 covers also fit the Losi 8 & 8T very loose, so they don't mess with spring ratio at all. Since I've been running these I have saved 10 times the money back and do much less maintenance. Try em you will see, and they are cheap anyways!

Here is where I found them:

Those look nice but they are just plain colors, dont have the pretty designs. You are right though they are cheaper than the outerwears ones and same price as the racers edge ones.

I use them and not only do they look cool but they really help keep the shock oil clean. I went to rebuild my shocks recently and the oil was clear like it was new. Preventing dirt form entering your shock bodies help make the o-rings last longer.

Thanks guys. I really hopped my Matrix up. Now if I only can drive as good as it looks. I changed couple of things since that picture was taken.

YEAH THEY ARE GREAT. THEY REALLY HELP ON KEEPING SHOCK OIL CLEAN, SHOCK SHAFTS FROM WEARING, AND LEAKING. I RECOMMEND THEM. I JUST GOT THE RUBBER STYLE THAT GO OVER THE SHAFT INSTEAD OF SPRING THIS WEEKEND. IM GOING TO GIVE THEM A TRY AND SEE.
