Default tuning a nitro motor

hey im kinda trying to get into racing more now and im not sure about tuning a nitro motor i just take y truck to the local hobby shop and let them tune it but iv been reading and watching people at the track tunning their cars befor every time they go on the track and such and just moving the screws around a fraction of a turn and my question is does anyone have a good instuctional video on knowing how to tune it like that?

It's a bit intimidating but you have to study what each screw does, and what effect it has on the other(s). What effects it will have when screws are adjusted together. Then start tinkering. You'll get it eventually, and the guys at the track will probably help you.

Just make sure you have an engine that tunes relatively easily to learn on. My first engines were the little .12 onroads which tuned consistently and held tune for me. I switched to Go-Tech for my first .21 in my first offroad and was instantly back at square one. I actually never figured that engine out.

There are some youtube videos on the subject. I haven't watched them so I don't know if they are any good or not but search for them and see.
