A grain of salt here- Aaron did race for Team Losi. He's a really good racer that specialized in 1/10 nitro stadium trucks it I remember correctly. For him to go faster with more power despite limited traction is not a surprise but it's also not realistic to expect club racers to have the same results with the same equipment. He'd likely smoke us all.

Rocket, you touched on something that's more true than you probably meant it to be when you mentioned NASCAR. It's a HUGELY successful racing series for lots or reasons but a big part of it is the similarity of the cars, both for the racers and the spectators. It has a rigid set of rules and lots of limitations that define it.

I've said it before, 1/8th and truggy are so popular because they are semi spec classes. Buggies all run .21's and while there are a large range of engines out there, realistically there's less than a 10% difference from the slowest to fastest engines available. The racers are convinced they are buying a competitive edge even though a well tuned OS VG/RG will run with just about anything within reason (I pulled down 3rd in the A at a large series race this weekend with an RG). For all the tires that are available, there's almost always one that is the best for a given track (most often the PL crimefighter), viola'! A voluntary spec tire! All this stuff adds up to more racer satisfaction from guys knowing that they didn't lost to another racer's budget. I think that should be the goal of any new racing class.

I'm not disagreeing or trying to start an argument with you, I'm just saying that unlike 98% of the people that post on this forum, Aaron should actually "know" what he is talking about, unlike every other person who posts on what they "think" or "believe." Just my opinion.

Wow, I didn't notice how cartoonish the Slash body seems until that side shot of the AE truck. I hope more concrete details are released soon, or I'm going to have to break down and pick up a Slash (I know poor me ). I hope this becomes the Tamiya Mini Cooper of off-road.
